I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts from Whitman College, Walla Walla, Washington, USA.
My visual art focus currently is acrylic paintings and ceramics.
I have spent the last twenty years creating and exploring the visual arts of the world. I’ve studied Chinese painting in Kunming, Yunnan Province, Peoples Republic of China and oil painting/ceramics in Florence, Italy, at Studio Arts Centers International.
From 2000-2010, I was co-owner and co-creator of Airspeed Skateparks, LLC. I and my partner designed and built functional concrete sculptures around the world: the USA, Mexico, Ireland, Nepal and South Africa. I often painted large-scale murals on these concrete works — for more information please purchase the documentary film by Irish filmmaker David Keating: KM 64 .
I’ve shown in individual and group shows in Brazil, Italy, Mexico and the USA.
Today, I continue to paint and work with clay, but writing is now at the forefront of my artistic efforts. But I can’t help myself — I make visual art as inspiration demands and in between novel rewrites. Recently, I’ve made Portuguese tiles and mantra infused ceramic japa malas and painted a series of mandalas and goddess collective sadhana paintings.
